365- Day 244

Through a window

While I remember, Lynne we have lots of love in a mist too....it just keeps spreading. It is nice though and reminds me of my Grandad as we got it from his garden.

I have taken most of my pictures through a window, I guess I am just lazy. I dont have lovely views though just more houses. Only been in the car to the library and as I was driving couldnt take any photos...not that any would have been any better through that in window. Any way I am waffling now....
SAM_4508
This was the living room window, front garden. Our cat never used to go out but this summer she has ventured all over the garden and even across to the other side of the road!

Anne look away now, I am sure you dont like spiders, did I remember correctly?? I went up to bed last night and found this in the bath now to most people it will be just another spider, to me it is a crab! it was HUGE
SAM_4507
To put some perspective on this HUGE crab I took another photo....note this was as near to the offending item I could get to
SAM_4506
Its a duck and I know it looks rather small to the duck, but trust me - it wasnt :)

On a nicer note, Evie did her last session at the library doing the summer reading challenge, she has been every week in the 6 weeks and got a medal. She really enjoyed it so hopefully we will get to do it again next year.

365- Day 243

thriving

Oh dear, looks like we have all decided on plants today.

SAM_4503

Richard and Daniel decided (note, I am not involved here!) to plant a conker in our garden a few years ago......you can see where I am going with this, it has grown, quite a bit....this is the top part which seems to have grown overnight....well ok this summer. I have now said enough is enough, soon as it goes dorment or whatever these trees do it will be dug up and given a more suitable home. It is not staying for its roots to go under the house!!

Last year at the allotment we planted some cornflower seeds, this year even though a rotovator had gone over all the soil a little green cornflower stem came up. We didnt want them at the allotment this year so we dug it up and planted it in the front garden, it didnt look very well for a while but here is is today, from one little seed last year it certainly looks like it thriving...wonder if it will come back again next year.
SAM_4499

We had the same weather today as yesterday, in fact it was a lot colder, the heating actually came on before we got up and I heard it again during the morning. I made a soup for dinner (who would have thought we were still in August) but this afternoon and evening the sun is out again, still cold though! We have my other nephew here tonight, he is a year older then Daniel so lots of xbox will be involved.

365- Day 240

free choice

I forgot to say yesterday, Lynne is back home but will only be getting her laptop back tomorrow :) I am looking forward to seeing lots of holiday photos.

So today has been a typical Bank Holiday Monday really. It was ok this morning but rained this afternoon.

SAM_4442

So we had a day at home, a visit from family this morning and playing this afternoon. Harry can put some of the shapes in the shape sorter now.
SAM_4439

,.....and he likes to get Evies tummy.

365- Day 239

edible

This is edible glitter- we got it to go on Harry's Christening cakes, a little goes far so we may be using it for many years to come :)

SAM_4436

Richard and Daniel went to cut the grass this afternoon and they found this...we are quite a walk from the nearest pond, so dont know how far he has travelled or if there is a pond in someones garden we dont know about....hope he has found home ok.

365- Day 238

purple

I like the colour blue a lot, purple has sneeked in too ( I tend to go for darker colours....much to hubby's annoyance, lol) I have finished one of my socks...it is quite bold for me but it has a little purple in it.

SAM_4426

Harry in the toy basket! SAM_4422

We had quite a bit of rain this afternoon, with a lot of thunder and a little lightening. Evie has gone to a party and is staying the night at Grans, we may get a little lie in, in the morning.

365- Day 237

footwear

We had a day at home today, it was decided yesterday that we wouldnt go anywhere. Daniel and Evie came downstairs in the morning to watch tele/play on the ds and Harry let us have a lie in until 8, it was bliss :) It was a dull raining morning so I think that was why Harry slept in and it was good that we hadnt planned to go out with the weather.
We did some baking, Daniel wanted to have a go at doughnuts- they were ok but not brilliant, Richard made some bread, a flan, some gingerbread loaves and buns. Evie and I decorated the buns in the afternoon then we went to the library for the summer reading challenge.

I dont do footwear much either, just a few pairs of the basics. We got Daniel and Evie their school shoes at the beginning of the week.
SAM_4411

SAM_4409

SAM_4410

She fell in love with these, they have flashing red lights at the heel....they are patent though, I dont think they will look this nice for very long. I have seen on the internet to use black nail polish on any scruffs....so that will be interesting.
Kathijo after my comment on your blog this morning you will think I was fibbing about Evies outfit- it does look quite normal in the picture here....but this morning she had babylegs on- knitting leggings with her stripey socks and skirt, the baby legs were stripey too but a different colour :)

365- Day 234

straight

grasshopper Evie spotted this yesterday at the allotment....he is pretty straight :) she knew he was a grasshopper and shouted for us all to come and look at him. He is on the compost bin which confused Evie.....he should be in the grass shouldnt he. I think he might have been a little annoyed with me though, as I was cutting the grass.

Lynne has said she is keeping up with the photos and they were going round Maderia in a taxi today.

365- Day 233

triangular

I found one of Harry's toys that was a triangle shape and tried to get him to pass it to me as you can see from the picture below....
SAM_4324

....but then I managed to get this picture- I have him trained so well :)
SAM_4325

Lynne sent me another text this morning, sounds like they are having a lovely time, they are in Maderia for the next 2 days and she said its very hot at sea and hardly a breeze.

365- Day 231

circular

I dont know if anyone else is taking part in the summer photo scavenger hunt, but I decided I would have a go. So far I have taken two pictures off the 21 items listed. My blog post is here http://www.aconleyfamily.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/2012-summertime-photo-scavenger-hunt.html
and details of the challenge can be found here http://gallorganico.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/2012-summertime-photo-scavenger-hunt.html

I have also finished the layout that you all got a sneaky peak off, I have entered the Creative Craft World scrap map challenge, my blog post with the layout is here http://www.aconleyfamily.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/ccw-scrap-map-challenge.html

Please don't feel you have to leave a comment (although I do enjoy your comments :) ) I just thought I would let you know I have finished it.
So back to today and circular. We had our greenhouse blown over and I feared for our tomatoes, well so far they have been ok. We have had one tomato...and these two are nearly ready.
SAM_4289

Its been a very humid day, even the cat was too hot and couldnt settle anywhere!
SAM_4290

Daniel went with his grandad to watch football again and we had a trip to my mum and then the allotment. We have got corgettes, carrots, broad beans and runner beans, the sweetcorn and celery isnt ready yet and the pumpkins are growing well. The potatoes need to be dug up soon.

CCW- Scrap Map Challenge

Over on the Creative Craft World blog is the monthly scrap map challenge, you can find details here http://creativecraftworld.blogspot.co.uk/

SAM_4284

....and a curvy lid and font on the glossy accents.
SAM_4285

I had another text from Lynne this morning, they were up early to see the sunrise at their first Island, been a couple of rough days at sea but they had a beautiful warm day with no clouds today.

365- Day 229

teamwork

SAM_4262

It took teamwork to get these pictures. Harry loves bubbles, so I blew them while Richard took lots of photos, these were the best!

SAM_4260

2012 Summertime Photo Scavenger Hunt

I thought I would take part in this challenge, which you can find more details on here
http://gallorganico.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/2012-summertime-photo-scavenger-hunt.html

There are 21 items on the list to take a photo of.
We went for a walk on Monday and I saw this for item no. 10 a horse
SAM_4158

I thought I would struggle to find number 20. A swing hanging from a tree (or a hammock)
but a bit further down the road from the horse we found this swing.
SAM_4170

So two photos down, just 19 to go.

365- Day 228

unity

After checking on the definition I thought how we planned our day worked well. Daniel wanted to do some baking....'something whole or complete that is composed of separate parts'
SAM_4208

He decided to make chocolate brownies and some buns.
SAM_4212

We had the ingredients for a cheesecake and as we had some blueberries we decided on a blueberry cheesecake- it was a recipe from the internet- the hairy bikers, it was quite nice too.
SAM_4218 SAM_4221 SAM_4215
I loved this picture of them both waiting for the choloate to be shared out, lol. We even managed to fit some painting in, Evie did a rainbow handprint and Harry did a blue one :)
SAM_4210

A big thank you to Jennie, it worked! Your instructions were fantastic, many thanks!
