Daniels 6th Birthday

I was going to write this last night but i was too tired to do anything, there is still pile of ironing waiting for the fairies to come along and do it.
So it was daniels birthday yesterday, he took buns for his class and teachers.
He had to quickly open his presents and cards before going to school, then had a bit of a play with the new things then it was swimming lesson, not passed grade 1 unfortuately, and he really wants to go to football (they are on the same day) so we will have to see about that one. So then it was tea time and the cake.
Daniel told be exactly how he wanted the cake, a bit different to the tank that he first wanted.
So busy day for Daniel!
Yesterday evie hardly ate anything yesterday and then had some horrible nappies. When we woke up this morning she had been sick, so no aquatots for us, we hadnt managed to get any swim nappies either. She feels a bit better today but is very quiet and not her usual self.

Another birthday

....and its daniels turn tomorrow.
Buns are made for school tomorrow, chocolate with sprinkles this time. Cake done according to his majestys instructions.
Had a busy morning, what with making the buns and cake, i also did an egg and bacon flan, some lemon curds with the left over pastry and some bread. Had some chocolate left from decorating the buns tonight so did a few krispie buns.
This afternoon was school photos so i took evie along so they could have a pic together.
Daniel looking forward to his birthday and opening presents tomorrow, he has his swimming lesson tomorrow so will be doing a proper birthday tea on friday.

Playgroup

This was Evie this morning on our way to playgroup- doesnt she look cute!
She needed to take something - hence the cat as they do a treasury bag, the children put a toy in the bag and then just before home time they play touch, feel to find their toy in the bag.
We had a few tears to start with, she didnt want to change into her indoor shoes and then wanted to go straight to playing with the toys instead of doing the register.
She soon settled though and started to wash the cups and plates, and drink the soapy water, yuck!
She then got to do some painting, i think she did put some on the paper, but most went on her shoes, some on her trousers, some in her hair and on her hairband.....but she was happy and thats the main thing.
I actually left her when she started to paint, i said bye to her and she stayed happy, i only went into another room in case she did get upset, but she was fine.
She fell asleep in the car and when we got home, she talked about ruby, who has a little sister called evie and she looked after her, helping her to wash her hands etc. And we heard lots about the painting...so lets hope shes ok next week!
Other news, richard went to college for an assessment for adult apprenceship in motor mechanics, which went well, the tutor wasnt availble though, so he will have to go back another time.
I got a tax rebate on a savings account so ordered a making memories trimmer, which is meant to be very good.
Tomorrow is school photos in the afternoon, so will take evie along to have her pic taken with daniel and then on thursday its daniels birthday.

good day

we had a really good day today, we went to aqua tots and this time we had some instruction as well as free play, evie really enjoyed it.
Richard has got an interview at college to do an adult apprenticeship on tuesday so we will see how that goes.
Two houses will soon be going on the market where i want to move back to, one will be more then we can afford, but it is lovely, but of course we have this to sell and we have the issues of a lack of monthly income, will have to see if our mortgage is portable. But its so nice that people are thinking of us and telling us just a shame it wasnt a year ago when we had to move in with my parents!
Managed to do the weekly challenge on ukscrappers.
So the weekend, work tomorrow morning and sunday dinner at the pub....and then another week will be upon us.

Evies Birthday

Evie was Two today!!

So here she is in her 'pretty dress'. We thought she could wear it tomorrow for her birthday....she'll be two, where did those two years go??? Presents wrapped, cake made, buns done for toddlers. No party, just a special tea.

Another week

Well time has flown again and a week has passed since i have updated. So on Tuesday Evie and i made our first visit to a local playgroup. Unfortuanately we wont be able to use the same nursery that daniel went to as the owner died, i am still really sad about this, but we have to move on dont we. Anyway evie seemed to really enjoy seeing more children and of course more toys, so she is booked to start on a tuesday morning after her birthday, so we will start on the 23rd.
Wednesday we had toddlers and next weds i will be taken buns and singing happy birthday for evie. Thursday we went and got some canvas shoes for evie a bargain £5 in the sale, these again will be for playgroup as they need to wear indoor shoes.
Today we didnt go to aquatots but hope to go next week.
We have the wedding to go to tomorrow, my brothers 3rd, evie is meant to be a bridesmaid for photos, so we will see if she cooperates, she is loving her 'pretty dress' as she calls it and swirls around in it, bless.
Also need to see our neice on sunday as its her birthday on monday. So a busy weekend, will be strange not going to work tomorrow morning though.

Aqua Tots

Very proud of myself today, this morning in the pouring rain myself and evie went off to aqua tots. Its meant to be half an hour of instruction and then half an hour free play. So i was slight disappointed that soon as we got in the pool the instructor started to throw toys in- no instruction in sight! Evie really enjoyed it, there were some children from toddlers there and she had a good play, we did 'ring a ring a roses' spinning on a round float and then of course falling in the water.

Daniel enjoyed going to grans for tea, he has a party to go to tomorrow afternoon, and so far we have nothing else planned for the weekend.

back to school

i can not believe 6 weeks of the summer hols have passed us by. It is back to the school routine for daniel as of tomorrow. One thing will be different, he will need to get used to a school life with glasses, i am sure there will be many trips to the opticians after a playground accident!! Mothers and toddlers also starts back tomorrow, so evie will enjoy playing with her friends again.
We dont seem to have done much during the holidays but they seem to have passed far too quickly (which i didnt think i would be saying at the start of them) so we must have done something.
He is all ready with his PE kit packed and his school bag, shoes polished and clothes ready and waiting, he had a headache tonight which i am hoping was due to the thunder storm and not the 'going back to school feeling', we will see tomorrow wont we.

We had a noisy thunder storm, lightening and heavy rain tonight. I went upstairs to see if daniel was still awake, he was petrified, with fingers in his ears, crying....why he didnt come downstairs i dont know, evie did not seem bothered at all by it.

I managed to finish the book i was reading, so can take them all back to the mobile library after school, evie so loves her books at the moment, i hope that lasts, daniel likes a story read on a night, but doesnt seem to want to be able to read them himself, i suppose that comes in time, he is a good reader at the moment as well....well as well as you can be at 5.

Oh i also got another cj in the post today, with lots of lovely alphabets (thanks joanne) so i wont have the worry over doing titles for a while.
